Welcome to Children's Bay Park, Akaroa. The park is a privately owned 200-hectare conservation park located in Akaroa harbour with stunning views of the surrounding Akaroa Harbour.

Children's Bay Park has several free public walking tracks that we encourage locals and visitors to come and explore. The most popular walk is the Rhino Walk - you have to get to the top of the hill to understand why it's called the Rhino Walk. It's an easy walk with incredible views back into the Akaroa Village and surrounding harbour. The start of the walk is only a 15-20 minute walk from the wharf in Akaroa or you can drive to Children's Bay and leave your vehicle there.

New trails have recently been added that now form a figure 8 network of walking tracks over the park and around the headland. If you have the time (allow three hours) this is a great walk.

Akaroa Accommodation and Events 

The original Woolshed has been tastefully and rustically restored to create a special farm stay experience on the edge of Akaroa township.

​

The old hay shed, now known as the Red Shed has been restored and sits up near the rhino, just below the skyline. It is a very cool and rustic space that offers a private and memorable venue for small events in Akaroa.
